About
Hi, I'm Sim — Trader, Data Nerd, and the Person Behind Sinvest
I started trading in 2021 with a lot of enthusiasm and, honestly, not enough discipline. Like many new traders, I jumped between strategies, chased setups, and made decisions based on gut feeling rather than data. The losses came quickly. And they were the best teacher I ever had.
After a string of painful trades, I realized I had no real system for reviewing what I was doing. I couldn't tell which strategies were working, which were bleeding me dry, or why I kept repeating the same mistakes. So I did what I do with everything in life — I built a spreadsheet.
From Spreadsheets to a Product
That first trading journal was rough. But it worked. I started logging every trade — entry, exit, strategy, outcome, notes. Over weeks and months, patterns emerged. I cut the strategies that weren't working. I doubled down on the ones that were. My performance improved, not because I got lucky, but because I finally had clarity.
I kept refining the journal. I added automated calculations so I didn't have to do the math manually. I built in multi-account support so I could track different portfolios separately. I made the spreadsheet fully customizable so that traders anywhere in the world could adapt it to their own workflow, preferences, and language. What started as a personal tool became something I genuinely believed other traders needed.
Tested by Real Traders
Before launching sinvestjournal.com, I sold my trading journals on Etsy (sinvest.etsy.com) — where real traders from around the world downloaded, used, and gave feedback on them. That experience shaped the product significantly. I learned what traders actually needed versus what I assumed they needed. Every version since has been built on that real-world feedback.
The Mission Behind Sinvest
Sinvest exists for one reason: to help traders track, analyze, and improve their performance through better journaling. Not everyone is a spreadsheet expert — and they shouldn't have to be. My journals are designed to be simple enough for beginners, powerful enough for experienced traders, and structured enough to build the kind of discipline that actually moves the needle.
Whether you're trading options, stocks, futures, forex, or crypto — whether you're managing one account or several — the goal is the same: trade smarter, not harder. Data-driven habits beat gut feelings every time. I built these tools so you don't have to start from scratch the way I did.
